Interview Preparation
It's great having a Web site that rocks. And it's even better to
generate buzz for your work. But what will you do when that buzz
includes media engagements such as radio interviews and TV
appearances? AuthorBytes helps turn those opportunities into
successes by offering you focused media training designed
specifically for authors.
The Trainer
Training is provided by AuthorBytes founder Steve Bennett. Prior to
launching AuthorBytes, Steve served as a media trainer and strategic
message development consultant to leading technology companies. He’s
helped hundreds of spokespeople deliver effective messages to the
media, to analysts, the financial community, and corporate
stakeholders. He’s also a former full-time author who has penned
dozens of books, including a parenting activity book series with a
million copies in print. An unabashed self-promoter, Steve has been
a guest on “Oprah,” “Good Morning America,” “Live with Regis &
Kathie Lee” (yep, that was a while ago), “Donahue” and “Geraldo”
(also a while ago), “CNN Morning News,” and scores of regional
television programs. He’s been a guest on hundreds of radio shows,
and his work has been featured in The New York Times, Time,
USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, and numerous other prestigious
publications.
Steve offers a unique dual background – that of an experienced
trainer who has also been in the hot seat himself. His media
training for authors provides a real-world perspective (he’s done
his share of interviewing as a freelance technology journalist) as
well as practical, proven advice from the trenches. He can work with
you in person and conduct videotaped simulated interviews, or via
telephone for instant help with upcoming radio and print interviews.
Either way, he’ll help you focus your messages (which should
synchronize with the messages on your site) and hone your delivery
so that you’ll maximize your chances of turning an interview into a
memorable performance – and, hopefully, book sales.
